9th/12th Royal Lancers Association

The 9th/12th Royal Lancers is an Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment that traces it's heritage back to 1715 and recruits from Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire. It deploys to Afghanistan in the spring of 2011, and is raising funds in support of local soldiers, their families and possible long term care of wounded soldiers and bereaved families.Soldiers from the Leicestershire and Derbyshire Yeomanry (LDY) will reinforce the Regiment on this deployment as they have done before.

The Association distributes annually some £25,000 in welfare donations ranging from regular quarterly payments to one-off grants with which to help with the purchase of wheelchairs, medical appliances and other expenses which are not available from the Social Services.
