Thank you for building a fundraising page for your birthday! The gifts that your friends and family will give, supporting Positive Women, will make a huge difference to the lives of women and children in southern Africa.

For every £47 you raise you will send a HIV/Aids orphan to Primary School completely changing their life chances. You can see an example of our work with the video below.

This year we have made it even easier for you to support us. Positive Women has partnered with Everyday Hero to provide an online fundraising webpage for each participant. In just minutes you can build your own page and approach your supporters for a donation by emailing around the unique link of your webpage. Each donation is recorded on your page along with any message of support from your donors.

So get a head start and make sure you create an online fundraising page today.

Positive Women

We have a mission -- to empower women in Africa to change their own circumstances. Women in Africa are at great risk: they have fewer rights, they are more prone to disease, they are poorer, exploited and marginalised and the strong women of Africa are discouraged from financially providing for their families and supporting their local economies. In short, women in Africa need to be empowered. They are the great untapped resource of Africa. At Positive Women we want to help change attitudes, empower women, create local economic growth and deliver help them deliver a better future for Africa.

Positive Women is an innovative and forward- thinking organisation that reaches all eight of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. To achieve this, we undertake the following programmes:

  • Establish income generation projects for women-led groups, particularly for those affected by HIV/AIDS

  • Provide education for vulnerable children and orphans

  • Educate women on their basic rights and provide legal support and advice

  • Train orphans and child headed households on sustainable livelihoods

  • Enable communities, particularly those from remote rural areas, access to mobile healthcare clinics.
