In 2013, our Stonewall Survivors completed the high-octane 10k running event, Survival of the Fittest, with a demanding course interspersed with obstacle zones. The team raised an amazing £6,000 and, after popular demand, is back at
Roald Dahl Plas, Cardiff on 28 September 2014
West Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh on 19 October 2014
Wembley Park, London on 22 November 2014.
Stonewall needs you to sign up to be part of the team.
Based on our School Report in 2012 we know that 55% of gay young people experience homophobic bullying and through our Education team’s work we recognise the urgent need to address cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying can be very distressing for a young person as most of the time they don’t know who is bullying them. Cyberbullying includes things such as sending nasty text messages or emails, or setting up a hate group on a social networking site. The bullying also happens around the clock and the target is often faced with the bullying even in the comfort of their own home.
You can help Stonewall stop homophobic cyberbullying with the sponsorship you raise:
£50 – we can be there for 15 young people experiencing bullying, through our free Information Service
£500 – we can develop new guidance for parents, teachers and carers on how to speak to young people about homophobic cyberbullying
£5,000 - we can launch a much-needed online forum to provide support and advice to people experiencing online bullying
