The John Hulley Sefton Triathlon 2010 has now finished

26 Jun 2010

The John Hulley Sefton Triathlon is the largest Community Triathlon in the UK it was set up in 2002 to mark the Golden Jubilee of the Queen. It was only intended as a single year event, but it proved to be so popular that it was organised again the following year, and has now become an annual event on the Merseyside sporting calendar.

Each year, various sporting celebrities have been involved including the footballers Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard. The event also attracted the five time Olympic Gold medal winner Sir Steve Redgrave, who was so impressed by the event that he became the event patron, which he remains to this day.

The event has grown each year, and in 2008, there were over 1150 people of all ages from 8 to 88 who competed, making it the worlds largest community triathlon.

This year the event takes place on Saturday 26th June.

Cash For Kids has been nominated as the main beneficiary for 2010 The money raised will help children all over our region.
