The Grand Charity 2019 Festival has to date raised:

     via the Festival Relief Chest

The Grand Charity supports causes close to all of our hearts, none more so than those which help people in our own community.

Supporting Shropshire Freemasons and their families

Over the last five years, The Grand Charity has assisted Freemasons and their dependants in Shropshire with 33 Masonic Relief Grants totalling over £120,000. The help the Charity gives is only possible due to the dedication and hard work of the Provincial Grand Almoner and Lodge Almoners, each of whom provides guidance and pastoral support in often challenging circumstances. It is through this partnership that Freemasonry ensures the wellbeing of its fellow Brethren and their families.

Supporting the wider Shropshire community

Examples of how The Grand Charity has supported Shropshire include:

  • Hope House Children's Hospice, Severn Hospice, Severn Hospice Telford and Shropshire & Mid Wales Hospice have received a total of over £140,000 from The Grand Charity since 1984.

  • Midlands Air Ambulance has received a total of £132,500 from The Grand Charity since 2007, helping this important life-saving service to operate.

  • The Movement Foundation - helping children who have difficulties with movement control - has received £7,000 since 2002.

In addition, The Grand Charity has supported organisations such as the Cricket federation for People with Disabilities, The Prince's Trust, to support some of the UK's most disadvantaged young people get their lives on track, and the Scouting movement.

We have five years in which to demonstrate our practical support for The Freemasons’ Grand Charity. Thank you for your support.

All donations are gratefully received and will be credited to the Provinces Relief Chest E0134

The Freemasons' Grand Charity

The Freemasons' Grand Charity is dedicated to helping people in need, and has donated over £120 million since 1981.

Each year, The Freemasons' Grand Charity provides relief grants for hundreds of individuals who are experiencing financial difficulty, as well as donating millions of pounds to nationwide charitable projects and services.

We also operate The Grand Charity's Relief Chest Scheme, which helps Lodges and other recognised Masonic orders give to charity easily and tax effectively.

All of the money we distribute is raised by Freemasons and their families, mainly through fundraising 'Festivals' held each year.
