How far do I need to walk?

Between 1km and 11km, depending on where you start and route taken.  Main route is 9km. Main walk starts  9.45-10.15am from ‘Two Step’ office 360, City Road, EC1V 2PY and finishes  with reception at St. Mark’s Church (ODAAT), Kennington SE11 4PW. For details of other routes see below.

How will it work on the day?

Sign-in and collect T-Shirts, map and directions from 9.30am onwards on Sat 24th March at 360 City Road EC1V 2PY (or alternative start points detailed below). There will be a staggered start so those that arrive first will leave first. For safety reasons, walkers will be encouraged to walk in small groups of 8-10.  There will be a Quiz and treasure hunt for families and a reception for everyone at the end of the walk. The reception will start at around 12 noon.

Other Routes:

Reduced mobility/step free Walk (3.5km): Westminster to Oval along the Thames embankment for most of the way.  Meet at exit 4, Westminster Tube station at 10.30am for an 10.45am start.

Family Walk (4km) 10.30am at Embankment tube for 10.45am start – ‘Treasure Hunt’ sheet will be provided

Short Walk (1km) 11.30am at Vauxhall Tube

What are the sights along the way:

Lincoln's Inn Fields, St Martin's in the Fields, Trafalgar Square, River Thames, London Eye, Battle of Britain memorial, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, MI6 building and Oval Cricket ground.

What about children?

We are planning a treasure hunt and family quiz to be done en-route. Families could choose to start at Embankment tube so that most of the walk is by the river – this walk would only be 4km.

Possible entry / exit points: Angel station, Charing Cross station, Embankment station, Westminster Station, Vauxhall Station. Everyone finishes at St. Marks Kennington (Oval).
